The Ox Method · Private Coaching for CEOs and Founders

You run a great company.
But right now, it's running you.

The average CEO spends only 43% of their time on what actually matters. The rest is meetings without purpose, email that never ends, and decisions someone else should be making, all quietly consuming the person who built the thing. The Ox Method is one-on-one coaching that puts you back in command of your company, and your life, and gives you back a full day every week.

No cost. No pitch. A straight conversation about where your time is actually going.

Harvard Business Review · CEO Time Study · 27 CEOs · 13 Weeks · 60,000+ Hours Tracked

A clear and effective agenda optimizes the CEO's limited time; without one, demands from the loudest constituencies will take over, and the most important work won't get done. Michael E. Porter and Nitin Nohria, Harvard Business Review
43%

The portion of CEO time spent on core agenda. The rest is noise.

62.5 hrs

Average CEO work week, with only 28% of that time spent alone, thinking.

37

Meetings the average CEO sits in every week.

The Problem

Technology alone won't fix this.
And you already know that.

You've tried the productivity apps. The calendar blocks. The "no meeting Wednesdays." They work for a week, then everything reverts. Because the problem was never your tools. It's that nobody, including you, has ever designed a system for you.

Parkinson's Law

Work expands to fill available time. Email enables instant responses, so everyone expects them. Video calls eliminated travel, so now you have eight meetings instead of two. AI summarizes documents faster, so you're expected to read five times more. Better tools without a better operator create more work, not less.

The Status Trap

CEO overwork isn't about the company. It's about fear. Fear of looking less committed, of missing something, of not being a real CEO. Overwork becomes an identity before it becomes a problem, and identities don't respond to apps.

The Boss Sets the Clock

You are the bottleneck. No tool or assistant can fix a schedule whose owner has never consciously decided what “enough” looks like. Left undefined, the answer is always infinity.

You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. — James Clear, Atomic Habits

The Solution

Coaching for the one person your company can't replace.

Not a course. Not software. Not a consulting team crawling through your org chart. A private, one-on-one engagement between you and a coach, built on a proven step-by-step method, customized to your company and your life, until scattered effort becomes measured results in every area that matters, and you direct all of it without being consumed by any of it.

Your executives run the company. Your tools do the low-value work. You sit at the center with one clear view of everything that matters to you, in command instead of in the mud.

What it is

A private coaching engagement, built on a step-by-step method: set the right goals in every area of your life, define how each one is measured, and equip each with what it actually takes to hit it.

How it works

We set your goals together. We define the KPIs. We choose the right tools, people, and processes for each goal. You watch it all on one dashboard, and we tune the system until the numbers are where you want them.

What it produces

A full extra day, every week. A company that produces results without your constant presence. A life that gets the same rigor as the business. The shift from firefighter to commander.

How It Works

What we do together, on repeat.

Name what you want to accomplish.

Figure out how to track it.

Build an engine: what work, and how.

Monitor and adjust.

The Method

You are not your company.
You are nine Life Scenes, and your company is only one of them.

Every other program you've tried had it backwards. They optimized the business and hoped the person would catch up. The Ox Method coaches the person. We map the nine Life Scenes where your life actually happens, set a real goal for each, and build an engine to reach it, because a CEO winning at revenue and losing at health, family, or purpose is not winning.

Health Where you work to live longer. The scene that powers every other one.
Company Where you work, and likely your best money. The biggest draw on your time, and still one of nine.
Career Where you earn and hold your professional status, separate from any single company you own.
Financial Where you fund all of it. Investments, savings, and wealth that outlast the business.
Family Where you live. Spouse, children, parents, the people the whole thing is for.
Social Life Your first choice for the hours no one pays you for. The circle that sustains you.
Lifestyle Your second choice for those same hours. Recreation, travel, the life you kept promising yourself.
Creative Where you challenge your mind. Learning, building, and making.
Spiritual Your reason for all of it. Purpose and meaning beyond the balance sheet.

The Method

Not all of your hours are worth the same.
Most CEOs spend the wrong ones.

Every hour you spend has a dollar value. In every scene, the Ox Method sorts your work into three zones, and builds your week to maximize the only one that requires you.

Engine Laboratory

$10,000/hour

Strategy. Vision. High-value relationships. High-stakes selling. Deep thinking. The work only you can do. This is where your time should go.

Engine Maintenance

$100 to $1,000/hour

Fires. Deadlines. Meetings with a defined purpose. Reports that actually matter. Necessary, but not where your day should go.

Monkey Wrench

$0 to $20/hour

Email. Interruptions. Admin. Scheduling. Social media. Anything a system, an assistant, or an AI agent can handle. This is what's eating your Engine Laboratory time.

The Weekly Bleed: If you're worth $1,000/hour and you're doing $20/hour work for 14 hours a week, you're losing $13,720 every week. $713,440 every year. The Ox Method stops the bleed.

What You Get

Everything you need to command all nine scenes.
Nothing you don't.

A private coach, one-on-one

Not a course, not an app, not a junior associate. You work directly with your coach to build and run your system, and he keeps watch so nothing quietly drifts off course.

Goals set right, in every scene

Company, finances, health, family, all nine. Real goals, chosen deliberately, instead of whatever the loudest scene demanded this week.

An engine for every goal

For each goal we build an engine: AI, staff hired onsite or off, vendor software, and the right process, whatever it takes to hit it. Assembled to fit your life, never forced on it.

One dashboard

A single place to see the health of every scene at a glance. Green: stay out. Yellow: watch it. Red: step in.

KPIs that actually mean something

We define how each goal is measured, so you always know whether you're winning, in time to do something about it.

A system tuned until it works

We don't set it and walk away. We meet, review the numbers, and adjust the goals, the tools, and the delegation until you're getting the results you want.

A shared vocabulary

Scenes, Engines, KPIs, Monkey Wrenches. Precise language makes delegation precise and accountability unavoidable. Language is infrastructure.

About Dominnus

Built by a coach who spent thirty years figuring out why smart people stay stuck.

Derek B. Davis · Founder, Dominnus

Derek B. Davis is a business coach and consultant who has spent more than 30 years helping business owners and executives get the most out of their labor, their systems, and themselves. Across three decades, the work always reduced to one question: where is expensive attention being spent on cheap work?

That question is why his toolkit runs deeper than most coaches'. Derek is certified in Business Analysis and Robotic Process Automation by UiPath, holds a Level 3 certification in AI Agent Development, and is certified in Cybersecurity by Google. In practice, that means when the Ox Method hands your Monkey Wrench work to systems, assistants, and AI agents, your coach knows exactly what is safe to delegate to a machine, what isn't, and how to protect what you hand over. He is the author of several books on money, investing, and history, holds an MA from Oklahoma State University and a BA from Vanderbilt University, and serves as a City Commissioner in Columbia, South Carolina.

Derek is also a professional odds-maker and risk analyst, which is a strange credential for a coach until you see it: odds-making is the discipline of pricing time, risk, and attention accurately, and refusing bets that don't pay. The Ox Method applies that discipline to your calendar.

The method came from years of watching high-performing CEOs, people genuinely excellent at their work, lose enormous amounts of time, energy, and effectiveness to lives they had never stopped to design. They had systems for running their companies and nothing for running themselves.

The name is the point. You built this company by being the ox: strongest one in the field, pulling everything, every day. The Ox Method exists to retire you from that job. The system pulls. You steer.

Ready to stop pulling?

The first conversation is a strategy session, not a sales call. We look at where your time is actually going, calculate your Weekly Bleed, and determine whether the Ox Method fits where you are right now.

If it doesn't, I'll tell you that directly.
